Why doesn't Kendon put these on as standard equipment? |

The same reason Car and Motorcycle Manufacturers offer standard equipment and also offer performance upgrades. LED lights are very expensive compared to standard tail lights. Most customers are satisfied with standard tail lights. |

Are the standard lights on a Kendon Trailer sub-standard or poor quality? |

No. The Standard Kendon Tail Lights are DOT approved and are the industry accepted standard. |

So why wouldn't I just go and buy LED Tail Lights from Auto Zone or similar? |

Mounting is critical: This is a complete engineered kit / system easy for a consumer to install. Kendon's is a manufactured kit. The spacers are critical as is the wire length. Without the complete kit the license plate will not be properly illuminated and wiring is very difficult for the customer. |
